It’s The Small Things That Matter

Luca and the Chick

Mezzacello Urban Farm is evolving and growing quickly. You may have noticed on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIN and YouTube! You should follow us on those platforms. It might seem like a small thing; But It’s The Small Things That Matter.

I love this phptp of our young friend Luca. When Luca came to Mezzacello Urban Farm for our Spring Hands On STEM fundraiser, he’d never seen a live chicken or rabbit before. Look at that delight and confidence! That baby chick and that future engineer fell in love immediately. But we can’t tell you that in a simple photo. There is ZERO FEAR there.

What We Can Do and What We Can’t

if you’ve ever wondered, ‘how do they do that? Could I do that?!’ Go to our website and sign up for a workshop! We want to teach you too!

Designing, building, testing, failing, and fixing the interconnected systems and ecosystems at Mezzacello Urban Farm for the past six years have taught us loads! We have the capacity to do so much here for the community and the next generation of leaders and innovators. We have already impacted 1,750 kids in 2024 alone. But here in person - that number is barely 150. That’s because the larger community doesn’t realize we exist yet.

Everything in Green is Mezzacello working with Ohio Farm Bureau, The PAST Foundation, or via Online Outreach.

We have already had a significant impact throughout Ohio thanks to our partnership with the Ohio Farm Bureau and the PAST Foundation. (See Map above). By and large, people driving past Mezzacello Urban Farm do not realize that this is a non-profit farming learning lab and not just a fancy back yard. It is my yard, but it is also our business.

We can’t advertise more because most of our funding comes from grants. We need more people to know about our family programs and workshops. The only way I can do this right now is through social media, but my reach is limited.

If You See Something, Say Something

We know we are doing amazing work. We are award-winning and constantly innovating and improving. We know this too because our camper’s families tell us this and people in our neighborhood tell us. Strangers passing from the street tell us and people who come to tour Mezzacello Urban Farm tell us.

But they don’t tell anyone else. We need you to share your surprise, delight, and experience. Just share a photo and tag @Mezzacello. It’s that simple. That would be such a big help! Also, if you’ve ever wondered, “how do they do that?!” go to our website and sign up for a workshop! We want to teach you too!

It might seem a small thing to you but it’s huge to us. It’s the small things that matter and all of you matter to us.
That is why we are asking you, If you see something, say something!
