At Mezzacello Urban Farm we are innovating with some exciting new options to make Mezzacello’s unique curriculum and facility more accessible. Look into one of these options..
Free Camps for Families in need for 1 parent or 16+ year old and 2 3-15 year olds
with the purchase of one seat to select camps at Mezzacello Urban Farm.
Choose to pair select camps to form a full day bundle at a slightly reduced cost at Mezzacello Urban Farm.
Each Bundle has a farming and a technology component to the two half day camps.
Lunch cannot be provided.
New at Mezzacello Urban Farm. On the second Wednesday of every month until October, the Farm and all of it’s tools are FREE IF the student is working on an invention or a science fair project, or if the student wants to volunteer to help others create and invent,
Come Celebrate Earth Day 2025 with us at the farm! Free workshops in the day from 9:00 - 4:00. Families and visitors are welcome all day, but after 4:00 there will be an open house and a celebration!
Mobile Sustainability Labs
Did you know that Mezzacello Urban Farm and it’s innovative applied STEM and hands on agricultural models can come to you? Here ate Mezzacello Urban Farm we have developed five Mobile Sustainability lab? These are complete and autonomous mobile labs on wheels, with their own power, 5G hotspot, data input, experiments, live animals, and of course fun activities.
The mobile sustainability lab is designed to be easily maneuverable, sturdy, and accessible with wheels that work equally well on grass and gravel as they do on wood and concrete. Have a look at our labs and see which one might be right for you.
Environmental and Climate Justice Academy
This Ohio EPA funded Academy is a state of the art training and certification project to train youth ages 14-20 on both the technology and science of ecologies and environmental issues, but the training, exposure to STEM careers, and Human Skills that will create the next generation of Climate and Environmental Professionals and Change-Agents. If you have a teen interested in this, the program is free but seats are limited!
This grant is now in data collection and reporting-mapping phase.
Service Hours and Volunteer Days for Schools
As a non-profit AND a unique 21st Century Urban Farm in the middle of downtown Columbus, Mezzacello is a great place to have students fulfill service hour requirements. There is so much here to inspire students in service. From adaptive ecologies, to livestock management, to water collection, purification, and reuse, to renewable energy, and of course gardening. There is truly something for every team!
