2026 J-Term SUSTAIN | Ability and
Project INCA Courses
During the 10 days of the 2026 J-Term SUSTAIN | Ability and Project INCA programming we explored Farming STEAM from creating Incan terraces, to exploring sustainable portable ecologies, caring for six different species of livestock, generating energy, and building water ecologies and feed for multiple species of livestock.
Mezzacello Urban Farm loves working with The Metro Schools in its J-Term programming as it gives us an engaging and authentic opportunity to field test our proposed programming for the coming season. Last season’s Project Sustainability, Ecology, and Energy (Project SEE) programming was user tested as well.

Innovations in 2026 Summer Camp and Workshops. This summer, evert camp and workshop will focus on the three main strengths of Mezzacello Urban Farm:
Animal Interactions - Livestock care, maintainance, and wellness exploration
Vegetable and Ecology - Integrating tech and exploration into gardens, foods, and soils to make food and feed for humans, animals, and healthy soils

Did you know that Mezzacello Urban Farm and it’s innovative applied STEM and hands on agricultural models can come to you? Here ate Mezzacello Urban Farm we have developed five Mobile Sustainability lab? These are complete and autonomous mobile labs on wheels, with their own power, 5G hotspot, data input, experiments, live animals, and of course fun activities.
The mobile sustainability lab is designed to be easily maneuverable, sturdy, and accessible with wheels that work equally well on grass and gravel as they do on wood and concrete. Have a look at our labs and see which one might be right for you.

Livestock Mobile Lab: Chickens, Ducks, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Crickets, Fish, and feedstock materials
Renewable Energy Mobile L:ab: Solar Panels, Wind Turbines, Low-Amp Inverters, Batteries, Fuses, and Racking Systems
BioEngineering Mobile Lab: Materials Handling, Erection Systems, Simple Machines, Reverse-Engineering Design Challenges
In-School Visits and Presentations
Mezzacello Urban Farm can bring the farm to you! We co-create our Farming STEM content with students and educators. Everything needed to present our animals, systems, and robotics systems is mobile and ready to go. Our mobile labs and presentation fees start at $200. We can tailor the experience easily!

Mezzacello Urban Farm Garden Tours
The Foodist Blogs
Ten week-long camps ranging from June through July will focus on the intersection between livestock, soil health, gardening, pathology, and applied STEM concepts. The main goals are fun, new experiences, and building confidence. Camps follow this format.

As a non-profit AND a unique 21st Century Urban Farm in the middle of downtown Columbus, Mezzacello is a great place to have students fulfill service hour requirements. There is so much here to inspire students in service. From adaptive ecologies, to livestock management, to water collection, purification, and reuse, to renewable energy, and of course gardening. There is truly something for every team!
